The theme of the poem is TO HAVE SOME PEACE.
Maggie was seriously hurt and couldn’t move and go out for a long time.It seems that her life has become not only meaningless but also painful.So in order to cheer her up,Frankie read this poem to let her relax or believe someday she would get well and set free from this pain,even it’s quite impossible.
In the beginning,Frankie and Maggie were just like teacher and student(Maggie called Frankie 『boss』),but at the end they were like father and daughter.It was love that made them closer to each other.Eventually,Frankie let Maggie go.Frankie ended her terrible life for her regardless of how reluctant he was just because she told Frankie to.What is love?This is love,the love that is selfless,the love Frankie toward Maggie,her million dollar baby,her darling.

2.When the author says,』I was keenly aware of the different Englishes I do use,』what does she mean by 『Englishes』?What are they?
One is the formal type of English that she uses it to communicate with her classmates and most of the people.This kind of English includes things like nominalized forms,past perfect tenses,condictional phrases.That is,this kind of English is learned by ALLMOST everyone in school and used by ALLMOST everyone.
The other form of English is the one she uses at home with her mom.You may call it 『Chinese English』,perhaps.It is more casual.However,it might has many grammatical errors.
5.Any inspirations you get from reading the story?
I think once a language is spoken,it is important to some group of people and is worthy to be respect.We shouldn’t judge its level like we judge a person by his/her race.Moreover,everyone shouldn’t feel inferior about the language he/she uses.It is a special tongue we used to communicate,a mother tongue.

1.”When I see how all human activity is directed toward procuring satisfaction for needs that have no other purpose than prolonging our miserable existence……LEAVES ME SPEECHLESS.”He thinks that if all of us just think about success or unreachable goals or immortal lives,our lives will be limited and meaningless,purhaps because we will always be in a hurry and just look at what is in the distance but ignoring the beautiful things that just in front of us.
So I thinks Werther is a person with “a small dream”.He has no great ambition,he just wants to live a simple live and pay attention to enjoyable things around him.
2.”those are the happiest people who,like children,live for the day only.”He thinks of children as the happiest people in the world because they just move on in their lives,playing around and seeing around.They enjoy their lives without thinking too much, including success or fame or wealth.They just live and treasure every moment when they are still alive.As a result,they will have less worries and feel more easy and happy.
3.Warther thinks of himself as a person with a pure heart beacause he still holds forever in his heart the sweet feeling of freedom,and he knows that he can leave this prison(this miserable world)whenever he likes.I can see from this letter that Werther is a unique person who thinks himself is better than other people.He thinks that most grownups in this world are even more childish than children when they want to reach their goals.I think that he might be a little arrogant and misanthropic.But on the other hand,I thinks his comments are not that unreasonable.So I think he is a sensitive and observative person as well.

1. I chose Paris to explain why he was put in hell.
『Zeus chose the hero Peleus, son of Aeacus, as the most worthy of mortals. All the gods and goddesses attended her wedding except Eris, goddess of discord. Furious of this slight, Eris threw a golden apple, inscribed 『For the fairest』, in the midst of the guests. The wedding was marred, when three powerful goddesses wished to claim the prize as the fairest: Hera, Athena and Aphrodite.The three goddesses asked Zeus to be their judge. Wishing to have nothing to with the contest, Zeus directed Hermes to refer the arbitration to Paris, a Trojan prince, the young son of Priam and Hecuba.Each goddess offered to reward him if he chose her. Athena offered to make him become a great hero or general; Hera offered to make him ruler of the richest and powerful kingdom; while Aphrodite offered him the most beautiful woman in the world in marriage: Helen of Sparta. Paris foolishly decided in Aphrodite’s favour and awarded her the golden apple as the fairest of them all. Troy was to suffer the enmity of the two most powerful goddesses.』=>so we can conclude that the Trojan War began and countless people died in the war because of Paris’ stupid decision and selfish desire for beauty.And that’s why Dante puts him to hell.

2.Because Francesca married to Paolo’s brother named Caina,they should’t be together after all.They had the moral responsibility to account for.Sometimes love coulld be so selfish and unreasonable
that it leads us to destruction.Because life isn’t just about love,there are many rules to obey and many people to think about.But on the other hand,the love between Francesca and Paolo was so firm that even though they died for it,they didn’t flet regret.As a result,Dante felt touched by the true love between Francesca and Paolo and felt sorry for their love at last sent them to the second circle of hell.

3.I think both of the vehicles and audiences should be accountable for unacceptable attitudes and behavior in society,because if there is no one feels interested in disgausting sex and abuse violence,midia will stop giving this kind of wrong information to us because they couldn’t make money by doing that.But vehicles can’t just think about making money and keep giving wrong information that would cause bad effect on society as well.In a word,the future belongs to all of us,so we all should take the responsibility for making tomorrow better.
